Day 01:    Arrive Delhi

On arrival, you will be assisted and transferred to your hotel

Day 02:    Delhi – Leh (By Air)

Transfer to airport to board flight for Leh
Meting assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel
Rest at the hotel to acclimatize to the altitude (3,500 meters above sea level)

Late afternoon, we will leave for a first discovery of the surroundings of Leh. After visiting the small monastery of Samkhar, where the monks of Spituk live a peaceful retreat, we will end the day with a bucolic walk to the center of the city of Leh. In this ancient stage where the caravans from Central Asia, Kashmir and Tibet converge, the local market welcomes only jovial peasants who come to sell their vegetables and fruits.

Day 03 :    Leh – Spituk –Stok-Leh (approx. 30 kms)

Labyrinth of courtyards and staircases wrapped on the steep slopes of a piton near Leh, the monastery of Spituk embodies Ladakhis’ attachment to their Buddhist identity. His superior, for years, was elected deputy to the Parliament of Delhi and allied to his religious office an intense political activity to defend the rights and traditions of his people. Ironically, the Hindus come to adore in this sanctuary of the traditional Buddhism a statue in which they recognize the image of the goddess Kali.
Then visit the Stok palace where the royal family exiled themselves after the annexation of Ladakh by the Maharajah of Kashmir in 1837. Some pieces transformed into a museum present some of the royal treasures that evoke a world forever disappeared. Above the village, the monastery of Gurphuk marks the boundary between the fertile valley and the wild world of the mountain.

Day 04:    Leh- Likir-Alchi-Uleytokpo (approx. 90 Kms./ 3 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Drive to Uleyrokpo. On the way, visit the great statue of Maitreya Buddha in the Likir monastery and the 1000 -year old murals of Alchi monastery, listed among the best Buddhist miniature paintings. Continue your road journey. Finally, you arrive Uley. Check-in at the resort/hotel.
Rest of the day on relax.

Day 05:    Uleytokpo – Leh (approx. 85 Kms / 3 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Morning explore Rizong Nunnery- residence of 40 monks, this monastery was constructed in 1831 by the great Lama Tsultim Nima. If you want, you can also enjoy a day hike to Rizong village (around 2-3 hours) or a go for a short hike to Gera-Lardo village across Indus River.
Drive back to leh, visit Spituk Monastery- also known as Pethup Gompa, it was founded in the 11th century; arrive & check in at Hotel

Day 06:    Leh – Hemis – Shey – Thikshey-Leh (approx. 120 Kms/ 4 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Morning drive to Hemis to witness famous Hemis Festival. (Hemis festival 23-24 June 2018) HemisGompa becomes a hub of activities during the festival. The gompa, which is known to be the wealthiest and the biggest in Ladakh, also features the largest thangka in Ladakh. The Buddhist gompa remains divided into two main parts – the assembly hall on the right and the temple on the left. Sacred dances, contradictory explanations and special musical performances are the major highlights of the Hemis Festival in Ladakh. During the festival, lamas and monks gather to perform sacred Mask Dance. The specific dance form is meant to celebrate good over evil. The Hemis Festival brings an opportunity for all the villagers and families to come together and socialise. Men can be seen wearing cummerbands while women are dressed in bright headgear and lots of jewellery. Brass trumpets, which are 3 metre in length, are played and the whole festive scene becomes a sight to behold.
Then visit Shey Monastery – the ruins of the former capital city of the first Ladakh kings now cut their sinuous lines on the crest of a rocky ridge. An impressive set of stupas and a temple that houses a monumental statue of the Buddha, made of gilded copper, erected in the 17th century by Nepalese artists are the only royal foundations to have survived the insults of centuries.
Thiksey Monastery- belonging to the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, this gompa is the largest monastery in central Ladakh region,

Day 07:    Leh –Nubra Valley (approx. 170 Kms/ 5 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Drive to Nubra valley. The natural beauty of this place will leave you spellbound. This high altitude valley in the tranquil region of Leh – Ladakh serves as the ideal place for the finest serene trekking routes as well as a few ancient Buddhist monasteries. Stop en-route and visit Diskit and Hunder Monastery.Diskit Monastery is the oldest and the largest monastery was established in the 14th century and belongs to the Gelukpa sect of Buddhism. The monastery was constructed in Tibetan style and houses beautiful murals and frescos. Hunder Monastery is situated just below Diskit monastery. It is a very beautiful monastery housing a huge statue of Buddha.

Day 08:    Nubra – Khardung-La Pass–Leh (approx. 150 Kms/ 4 Hrs)

Breakfast at Camp.
Drive to Leh, en-route stop at the Khardung-La Pass (at an elevation of 5,359 m (17,582 feet) above the sea level,) is a high mountain pass located in Ladakh region. The pass is the gateway to Nubra Valley. Some of the locals claim the pass to be the highest motorable road in the world.

As the rest of the day is free, you can indulge in some last minute shopping at the popular markets of Leh such as Moti market, Balkhang chowk for apricot and Super Market.

Day 09:    Leh –Pangong Lake (approx. 220 Kms/ 6 Hrs)

Breakfast at Hotel.
Drive to Pangong Lake, east to the Leh after crossing Chang-la (Pass) (17500ft) and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 – 5 times a day. At evening enjoy the breathtaking view of Pangong Lake.

Day 10:     Pangong –Leh (approx. 220 Kms/ 6 Hrs)

Start your day early when the surroundings of the lake look even more beautiful.

Drive back to Le, arrive & check in at hotel

Eveningat last minute shopping at the popular markets of Leh such as Moti market, Balkhang chowk for apricot and Super Market.

Day 11:    Leh – Delhi by air & Depart Delhi

Breakfast at Hotel.
Transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi (Flight G8-194-1130/1150 Hrs)
Meet & assist on arrival and transfer to visit of Old Delhi and New Delhi: visiting the Jama Masjid, built in the year 1656 AD by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Take a stroll down through Chandi Chowk, the heart of Old Delh and the place to be for the full-on Indian experience of crowded, twisted alleys and tiny shops and drive past Red Fort, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1648. Also visit Raj Ghat, a memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. visit Qutub Minar, a 72.5 m minaret, the tallest “skyscraper” in the world when built (1193-1368). Drive past India Gate, a memorial for the Indian soldiers who died in World War I and President’s House, the official residence of the President of India”
