Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Meet & assist at airport and transfer to Hotel Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: In Delhi
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning: Sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting the Jama Masjid, built in the year 1656 AD by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Take a stroll down through Chandni Chowk, the heart of Old Delhi and the place to be for the real Indian experience of crowded, twisted alleys and tiny shops. Drive past Red Fort, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the year 1648. Raj Ghat, a memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, the Sikh temple. Afternoon: Sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting Qutub Minar, a 72.5 meter minaret, the tallest “skyscraper” in the world when built (1193-1368). Humayun’s Tomb, this magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. Drive past India Gate, memorial for the Indian soldiers who died in World War I. Drive past President’s House, the official residence of the President of India. Drive past Secretariat House, Building of Ministers of Central Government. Overnight at Hotel
Day 03: Delhi – Gwalior by Train
Breakfast at Hotel Transfer to New Delhi railway station to board train to Delhi (Shatabdi Express -0600 /0930 Hrs) Meet & assist and transfer to hotel Afternoon: Visit Gwalior Fort, Standing on a steep mass of sandstone, Gwalior Fort dominates the city and is its most significant monument. Man Mandir Palace, Built between 1486 and 1517 by Raja Mansingh. Gujari Mahal, within the fort are some marvels of medieval architecture, visit the mausoleum of Ghaus Mohammed and Tansen’s tomb where you can find beautiful jalis. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 04: Gwalior –Orchha – Khajuraho by surface (290 Kms./ 6 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Khajuraho. en-route visit Orchha once served as the capital of the Bundela Kings, You will also visit a small museum that has been set up in the palace. Then, you will leave for a walk through the city and along the Betwa River to see these ancient memorial Lakshimanarayan temples, renowned for its frescoes Religious and then visit Ram Raja Mandir & Chatturbhuj Temple. Continue drive to Khajuraho. On arrival, check in at Hotel Evening witness of Sound & Light show at Temple Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05: In Khajuraho
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning: Visit the Eastern and Western Group of Temples- World renowned for its sculptured temples dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, and Jain deities, and the sexually explicit carvings both inside and outside the temple. This UNESCO world heritage site is believed to have had over 75 temples of which 22 remain today. Afternoon: visit local villages Overnight at Hotel.
Day 06: Khajuraho – Jhansi by surface (170 Kms. 4 Hrs) & Jhansi – Bhopal by Train
Early morning drive to Jhansi Railway station to Board Train to Bhopal (Shatabdi Train 1050 / 1400 Hrs). Meet and assist at Railway and transfer to Hotel. Afternoon: visit Bhopal City- It’s one of India’s greenest cities with two main lakes, the Upper Lake and the Lower Lake. On the banks of the Upper Lake is Van Vihar National Park, home to tigers, lions and leopards. The State Museum has fossils, paintings and rare Jain sculptures. Visit Taj-ul-Masjid which is one of Asia’s largest mosques, with white domes, minarets and a huge courtyard. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07: In Bhopal
Breakfast at Hotel. Day excursion to Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Caves. (approx. 180 Kms./4 Hrs) Sanchi is a small village situated in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. This village is most famous for its Buddha stupas also called Sanchi Stupa and monuments. The beauty of this village is enhanced by the presence of these beautiful pillars, shrines, stupas the existence of which can be found between 3rd and 12th century AD. Bhimbetka lies 40 km. south of Bhopal, surrounded by the northern fringe of the Vindyan ranges. In the folds of its grassy slopes and rocky ravines, over 700 rock shelters have recently been discovered. Vivid paintings in panoramic detail are found in over 500 caves. These depict the life of prehistoric man, who in his resting hours, filled the surface of rocks with his paintings, generation after generation, tribe after tribe. Bhimbetka is a close encounter with the Stone Age. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 08: Bhopal – Ujjain – Maheshwar by surface (250 Kms./ 6 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Maheshwar, en-route visit to Mahakaleshwar Temple at Ujjain- 35 kms. from Indore is Ujjain, a place of Hindu pilgrimage. Every 12 years, a great fair, the `Kumbh Mela’, is held at Ujjain. More than 2.5 million devotees flock to this fair which celebrates the saving of the earth by Shiva. One of the twelve sacred Shiva icons, `Jyotirlingas’, is found in this city at the Mahakal Temple. Upon arrival, check in at Hotel Overnight at Hotel.
Day 09: Maheshwar – Omkareshwar – Madu – Maheshwar by surface (200 Kms./ 5 Hrs)
Pick-up from Hotel Full day excursion to visit Omkareshwar and Mandu Visit another Jyotirlinga temple. Omkareshwar is another pilgrimage on the bank of holy Narmada river. Its name “Omkareshwar” is derived from hindu god Lord Shiva. It is also called Amareshwar Temple. Apart from visiting Omkareshwar temples, we can also do boatride in Narmada river. Mandu a fairytale city with amazing architecture and a tribute to the love shared between the poet prince Baz Bahadur and his beautiful consort Rani Rupmati. Some of these attractions include Jahaz Mahal, Jami Masjid, Hindola Mahal, Baz Bahadur’s Palace, Rewa Kund and many more. All the monuments of Mandu present a unique architecture which gives an magnetic attraction to the history and culture. Overnight at Hotel. Day 10: In Maheshwar Pick-up from Hotel Morning: boat ride on Narmada River. Later visit Maheshwar, a temple town on the bank of River Narmada. A visit to the 16th century fort and is famous for its elegant architecture & spectacular view from Narmada River is now a Heritage hotel .It is located on the bank of river from where one can enjoy best view of river, boating, sunrise and sunset. It was constructed by a great queen Ahalya Bai Holkar as her residential place, a queen India ever had seen. Evening time to visit the ghats and walk through the narrow lanes . Maheshwar is known for its textiles as well, you get some time to visit the Rewa weavers at the Fort complex Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11: Maheshwar – Indore by surface (90 Kms./2 Hrs) & Indore –Mumbai by air
Morning: pick-up from hotel and transfer to Indore airport to board flight for Mumbai. Meet and assist at airport and transfer to Hotel Overnight at Hotel.
Day 12: In Mumbai
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning visit Elephanta caves -first visit Gateway to India -an elegant 26 mtrs stone archway.From Here board on ferry boat to Elephanta (The journey takes 1 hour to reach the island by sea), Lunch at local restaurant Afternoon: Visit Prince of Wales Museum – premier art and history museums in India and Victoria Terminus, a major landmark of Mumbai city. Also visit Dhobi Ghat, Laundry quarters – only of its kind in world, Mani Bhavan – Mahatma Gandhi’s home and Museum and drive past Marine Drive – a bustling waterfront promenade Overnight at Hotel. Note: Elephanta Caves & Prince wales Museum closed on every Monday.
Day 13: Leave Mumbai
Transfer airport to board flight for back home.
